Italian crude steel production plunges in Apr
According to data from the Italian steel association Federacciai, Italy produced approximately 1.12 million tons of crude steel in April, plunging by 42.5% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the production of steel plate was roughly 620,000 tons, falling by 38.3% year on year, and that of long products was about 560,000 tons, dropping by 45.6% year on year.

In the first four months of 2020, the output of Italian crude steel totaled about 6.4 million tons, sliding by 22.4% from the same period last year.

Italy produced around 3.3 million tons of steel plate and 3.2 million tons of long products, decreasing by 19.5% and 25% year on year, respectively.
