ISSF: Global stainless crude steel production declines in Q1 2020
According to the statistics released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), global stainless crude steel production totaled around 11.69 million tons in the first quarter of this year, declining by about 8% year on year and falling by 5.8% quarter on quarter.

By region, European stainless crude steel production was around 1.78 million tons, down by 6.3% year on year and up by 13.1% quarter on quarter; the US' stainless crude steel production was around 627,000 tons, declining by 10.9% year on year and rising by 9.1% quarter on quarter; China's stainless crude steel production was around 6.08 million tons, down by 9.0% year on year and sliding by 12% quarter on quarter.

In Asia (excluding China, South Korea, and Indonesia, mainly in Japan, India, and Taiwan), the production of stainless crude steel totaled around 1.89 million tons, falling by 3.8% year on year and down by 6.8% quarter on quarter; that in other areas (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and Indonesia) was around 1.32 million tons, sliding by 9.7% year on year and dropping by 1.2% quarter on quarter.
