India imposes CVD duty on welded stainless steel pipes from China & Vietnam
According to the announcement issued by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India would impose countervailing duties (CVD) on welded stainless steel pipes and tubes from China and Vietnam, which had been implemented from Jul 31st and valid for 5 years.
The investigation results showed that there were significant increases in imports of the products from China and Vietnam in FY 2017-2018, compared to the FY 2014-2015.
Over the same period, the exports of China and Vietnam had grown by nearly ten times and six times respectively, which damaged Indian domestic industries.
The countervailing duties would range from 21.74% to 29.88% for China, and 10.33% to 11.96% for Vietnam.
The welded stainless steel pipes and tubes involved in this case were under HS codes 73064000, 73066100, 73066900, 73061100 and 73062100.
