Guinea SBG seeking partners for alumina plant investment
It was reported that Société des Bauxites de Guinée (SBG), a Guinea-based alumina and bauxite company, is seeking partners for its plan to build a US$1.4 billion alumina refinery in Guinea. The total annual production capacity will be 1.6 million tons, including 2 alumina production lines with a capacity of 800,000 tons per year.
SBG has completed a feasibility study for the project, but the exact time to launch the project has not been confirmed yet.
Currently, SBG is doing the construction of port and road for bauxite mining. The firm was expected to produce bauxite Al2O3 43%min SiO2 2.5%max from the second quarter of 2020, and the estimated annual production capacity will be 3 million tons.
