Global crude steel production increases in Jun
According to the statistics in June, the production of crude steel from 64 countries counted in the statistics of the World Steel Association (worldsteel) totaled around 151 million tons, up by 5.8% year on year.
Among them, the production from China was around 80 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%; that from Japan was around 8.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%; that from India was around 8.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%; that from South Korea was around 6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%.
In the first half of 2018, global crude steel production amounted to around 882 million tons, rising by 4.6% compared to the same period a year ago.
