Global copper output rises by 4.5% during Jan-Jul
According to the statistic from the International Copper Study Group (ICSG), global copper mine output grew by 4.5% year on year during the first seven months.

Chile, the biggest copper mine region in the world, had an 11% increase in its production during the period. The production was affected by a strike at Escondida, the biggest copper mine, therefore the production was limited in February to March 2017.

Indonesian copper production surged the most by 30%, mainly because there was a provisional forbidding exports last year.

Production among countries such as the US, Australia, India, the Philippines and Poland declined due to maintenance and operation problems. Especially India dropped the most by 22% year on year.
