Global aluminum demand rises by 5.5% for Q1
The Russian aluminum industry (RUSAL) announced Friday that its first-quarter earnings were US$434 million, which was higher than US$149 million compared with the same periods of last year. Global aluminum demand grew by 5.5% to 15 million tons in the first quarter of this year. The company said it expects global aluminum supply to grow by 4.3% to 61.6 million tons for 2017, with aluminum demand increased by 5% to 62.7 million tons. Among them, China's aluminum demand grew by 7.5% compared with the same period of last year.
