GIADEC’s bauxite tender attracts interests from more than 40 global enterprises
It was reported that the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) has launched a tender of bauxite to recruit cooperative companies. So far, more than 40 global companies had interests in it.

The bidding process was expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year, and the successful bidders will be announced next April.

According to understanding, GIADEC planned to reach its bauxite annual output to 20 million tons and alumina or refined bauxite output to 4-6 million tons per year through obtaining 4 mining rights and 3 refineries.

Besides, the firm will also plan to transform Volta Aluminum Company (Valco), making its aluminum production capacity to 300,000 tons, as well as raising its aluminum production capacity to 500,000 tons by building 2 smelters.
