German crude steel production falls in Jun
According to the data from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), the production of German crude steel totaled around 2.5 million tons in June, sliding by 27.3% compared to the same month a year ago.
Among them, the output of blast furnace crude steel had a year-on-year decrease of 35.8% to around 1.5 million tons, and that of electric arc furnace crude steel had a year-on-year reduction of 7.3% to roughly 940,000 tons.
In the second quarter of this year, German crude steel output dropped by 26% year on year, compared to a decrease of 6% in the previous quarter.
In the first half of 2020, Germany produced a total of around 17.5 million tons of crude steel, dropping by 15.7% from the same period a year earlier.
