CSC plans annual plant maintenance at Q1 2019
It was reported that China Steel Corporation (CSC) planned to have an annual plant maintenance at the first quarter next year, including plants of billet, steel bar and wire rod. As there would be a nine-day Chinese New Year holiday at the first quarter, the production capacity of long products was estimated to shorten around by 10%. Based upon the source from CSC, the forth quarter performance of 2018 was better than the same period of 2017 along in consequence of strong demand of the tool steel.

Due to the trade war between China and the US, the import duty for tool steel from China would be levied 25% duty and hence the order would be expected to transfer to Taiwan or other Southeast Asian nations. The tool steel business in Taiwan was expected to have booming afterwards. Consequently, they needed to arrange the production schedule and material preparation for processing in advance in case of full capacity of CSC.
