Chinese crude stainless steel output increases in Jan-Sep
According to the statistics from Stainless Steel Branch of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, in the first 9 months this year, the output of crude stainless steel totaled around 20.8 million tons, up by 8.5% compared to the same period a year ago. 

Among them, the output of 300 series accounted for 45.23%, totaling around 9.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8%; that of 400 series accounted for 19.89%, totaling around 4.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.66%; that of 200 series (including certain products not meeting national standards) accounted for 34.33%, totaling around 7.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.21%; that of duplex stainless steel amounted to 114,000 tons roughly, a year-on-year increase of 62.12%.

The apparent consumption of stainless steel was expected to be 16.5 million tons roughly, hiking by 9.51% compared to the same period a year earlier.
