Chinese aluminum production growth rate slides by 7% in 2018
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the Chinese government said that the production cost of aluminum in Chinese market was increasing, and the efficiency in industries also declined, which indicated that the overall development trend was not optimistic.
In 2019, the production of aluminum in China had a year-on-year increase, but the growth rate dropped significantly. The production of alumina, electrolytic aluminum and aluminum had a year-on-year growth by 9.9%, 7.4% and 2.6% respectively.
Among them, the growth rate of electrolytic aluminum production hiked by 5% compared to last year, and that of aluminum production dropped by 7% year on year due to the impact of trade restriction and sluggish domestic consumption.
