Asian crude steel output rises by 7% in Jun
According to the data from World Steel Association (wordsteel), the crude steel output in Asian counties rose by about 7% year-on-year in June. This region contributed about 71% of world’s total production.

The total crude steel output in Asian countries was 107 million tons in June, compared to same period last year of 100 million net tons. And the total crude steel output for the first six months of the year rose by 5.2% to 614 million tons from same period last year.

Among countries, Chinese output rose by 7.5% in the region and accounted about 75% of total regional output in June. The production volume was 80 million tons. Japan ranked second in the region and the volume was around 8.8 million tons. India produced 8.7 million tons. The top three countries contributed more than 90% of the region in June. 

For other Asian countries, mostly were reported with production rising in the month. However, Taiwanese and Thai output went down in June, dropped by about 8.6% and 15.9% year-on-year compared to same period last year, respectively. Vietnamese output grew significantly by 42.3% in the month roughly.
