A few days ago, ArcelorMittal negotiated transportation deal with Prijedor local railway company, Željeznice Republike Srpske (Željeznice RS), but the agreement was failed to work out. Therefore, Omarska mine in Bosnia was forced to stop production.

ArcelorMittal had a steel plant in the central Bosnian town of Zenica, and required iron ore for the mill comes from Omarska mine. Besides, this steel mill was the largest exporter in Bosnia, and its export value accounted for 2.5% of the country's GDP.

ArcelorMittal Prijedor, located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, supplied iron ore to ArcelorMittal Europe's subsidiaries, and mainly produced iron concentrates with an annual capacity of about 1.5-2.1 million tons. ArcelorMittal will certainly continue to negotiate with Željeznice RS, and find a solution as soon as possible to resume production.
