ArcelorMittal has blast furnace explosion at US subsidiary
According to reports, a blast furnace explosion occurred at a sheet steel mill in Burns Harbor, Indiana, which is an American subsidiary of ArcelorMittal.
The explosive Blast Furnace D has an annual production capacity of 2.48 million tons. The explosion was caused by the failure of the furnace roof. At present, the blast furnace has been taken off the shelf. Fortunately, no personnel were injured in the accident.
The specific reason was still under further investigation. ArcelorMittal said that it is working out a schedule for equipment maintenance, hoping that the accident will not affect the factory’s delivery time
