Alcoa’s aluminum & alumina shipment grows in Q2
According to the performance report released by Alcoa, in the second quarter of this year, the firm’s total third-party aluminum shipment was up by 9% compared to the previous quarter, mainly due to the restart at the Aluminerie de Bécancour Inc. (ABI). The third-party alumina shipment had a quarter-on-quarter hike of 2%.

During the period, Alcoa’s revenue was US$2.1 billion, decreasing by 10% from the previous quarter, caused by a drop in aluminum and alumina prices. The firm had a net loss of US$197 million, compared to a net income of US$80 million in the first quarter.
