Accidental explosion in Jiangsu Xiangshui not affect stainless steel production nearby
On the afternoon of March 21st, a sudden explosion took place in a chemical company in Jiangsu, China. 16 enterprises nearby were affected by the accident. Up to 7 o’clock on March 23rd, the mentioned accident has already caused 64 deaths, while 21 people suffered moderately critical injury and 73 were severely injured.
The explosive substance in the accident was C6H6, which came from oil cracking. According to resources, this was not the first time that such accident happened in this chemical park. Considering that the stainless steel factory nearby was not located in the chemical park and was about 10 km away from the chemical factory, so it was believed that the production of the factory will not be affected.
